No offense to any of them personally, but unless they are independent wealthy, they need to continue being racers, not race promoters.

Do you have kids? If so, go riding with them! Teach them all the skills they need to know and introduce them to racing. Be there with them, and be there for them. If you are race promoter you’ll be the one with the kid who’s bike ran out of gas because his dad forget to fill it up before the race (he was busy with registration issues).

Do you like to trail ride? Do you value the time you get to do this? Well kiss it good by! You can learn how to do 40 yard sprints between large trees on the trail that look like they’d be good for an arrow. You know, one where all four staples have something to grab on. Starting and stopping hundreds of times a day along the trail is NOT trail riding. So, don’t be the person who doesn’t enjoy their sport anymore because they have no time to ride!

Think you are going to make money? You are kidding yourself from day one. It is not going to happen. I takes LOTS of people to pull off just one race and each one of them “costs” something. There isn’t enough to go around at the end of the day.
