Fall colors, oil leaks, and trail rides . . .

Fall is the time that we like to explore. The leaves are coming off the trees and you can see farther through the woods and brush. Only the blackberry barbs are there to offer impedance. Jesse, in line with the previously posted video, is into “building” single-track trails. The trip to Idaho screwed him up for sure. Kyle thinks I’m warped as well. So be it! The course at Boiling Springs this year was surely a result of all that madness!

So this year we’ve had some fun already. I’m coming back from the “Fever” (Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever) and have enjoyed getting out to ride and enjoy the out doors. This past weekend we got some good photos from a power line cut and from a secluded ridge point. Nice to see things from this perspective. Check out the links and photo below for a view:

After some of my recent rides I’d notice a small dime-sized pool of oil on the floor on the sprocket side of my 2005 YZ. For weeks, I’ve looked for the issue but could not pin it down. It was most obvious when it was left on the kick stand leaning to one side. Frustrating for sure! So Mark told me to try some sort of powder in the suspected areas. Worked like a charm! Found the problem and it turned out to only be a lose screw! Remember that trick for trouble shooting in the future.

This is a great time of year for a long trail ride. Cool temps and sunny days make for a great outing. The plan is to head down to Red Bird within the next few weeks before it gets really cold. We’ve heard that they’ve been doing some trail maintenance down there and things look pretty good. Get out and enjoy!

See you on the trail!
